Hubert Jestes: If you really think that playing boardgames has died out I'd direct you to Board Game Geek(www.boardgamegeek.com). It is a database full of boardgames and has a ton of message boards and discussions about boardgames. Not just games like Twister and Hungry Hungry Hippos either, new games made in Europe and the US with fairly complex rules that are much deeper than a simple "Roll a die and then move" mechanic. There's a reason people don't like to play games like Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit and Battleship after a while, they realize that the game play is a little too simple and want something that is more engaging. At least that's what I think, and yes, video games are more engaging than a lot of the "classic" boardgames out there, but there are a lot of new boardgames that give you lots of things to think about for your future turns, lots of things that you can do while it's not your turn and mechanics for movement that are way better than the randomness of "R! oll and Move". One more thing before I get off my soap box here: There are a lot of newer boardgames out there that have been made into video games in the last couple years. Settlers of Catan has had a video game version of it made, as has Ingenious and Dungeon Twister. And of course there have been the online versions of the Ticket To Ride games. The fact that so many boardgames can be so easily translated shows that not only are boardgames still being played, they're still original enough and popular enough to make into video games too.I'll link to a couple of other sources that talk about good Gate Way Games, games that are good introductions to the hobby of playing boardgames. Both are good, one is a brief discussion of how there are games out there that are much better than Monopoly and gives a quick description of some of the better Gate Way Games. The other is a great list of Gate Way Games with deeper descriptions and a large variety of lists that are linked off of i! t based off of what kind of game you want to play....Show more!

Rosalia Hibler: I don't think that's true. It's just easier to play video games, particularly since you don't have to meet anyone to do it. Consider "phone tag".
Dexter Dicostanzo: I nevertheless like to play board video games. and that i comprehend that maximum folk now days in effortless terms care approximately getting inebriated or doing drugs. attempt to discover some acquaintances who're extra ps! ychological and that i assure they are going to desire to play board video games. they could be a splash nerdy yet i could choose for that over a pal with a hangover.
