Someone at home for remodel?

Tobie Oshea: I a contractor and it makes no difference if you are home or not, just leave a number where you can be reached if any questions come up, my guys always show up on time so that is a non issue,in fact we prefer not to have any one at home as the noise and activity level are such that many times the homeowners too inconvenienced by having to accomodate all the hustle and bustle during the day,and truthfully many times they are just in our way.

Armando Somes: make sure contractor is licensed ,insuredfor workmans comp & BONDED. a month seems too long for bath remodel get completion date on contract with penalties for non compliance and do not pay more than 10% of contract price until project completed to your satisfaction. areputable contractor should have no problem complying with these requirements

Thurman Buege: Oh lucky you.......this won't' be fun!!! I would certainly want to be there in the beginning, really, you need to find out if they are eff! ecient and honest...and even when you are not there I would always leave the suggestion that you may pop in at any time......I had a guy painting the interieor of my last house and was charged by the day.....I was shocked when a neighbor of mine told me that the minute I left he plunked his a** on my couch, cracked a beer and watched t.v............grrrrrrrrrr......unfortuanately the "job" was almost done by the time they felt they should tell me.....(they could see in my windows......I wasted a ton of money....so that is my opinion...keep an eye on em even if you DO like them!!! JMO...Show more
