Cody Petrulis: You don't need a license to buy a car. But you do need a licensed driver to sit in the front seat when you drive to the test. Also, if you do buy a car to test in, it has to be insured. It might be cheaper (if this is the only reason you are buying a car, you might want to look into a privet driving company, who often provide a car for you to test in).
Myesha Zerbe: It's not legal to buy a car without a license. Your driving school should be able to go with you on the day of your test to get your license and you would do the test in their car. If that's not an option, then perhaps the motor vehicle agency will have a car that you could use.
Hal Palowoda: Technically, if you keep your car long enough, You have %100 chance of seeing your car break down eventually. The cool thing about broken down cars is that they can usually be fixed. As another poster said, "Buyer Beware". Bring someone who is knowledgeable about cars with you so they might be! able to identify any potential problems. And of course, get the oil changed ASAP and have some basic maintenance done to it on a regular basis, and it should be fine. BTW... carfax is great and all, but just because a car was in a collision once doesn't make it any more likely to break down. My father is an auto body specialist and both of my brothers are mechanics, from what we've seen, that's a load of crap. What you DO have to watch out for are cars with computers. Computers CAN be glitchy. We had one once that would just stop randomly and wouldn't turn on for an hour or so. Nothing wrong with the engine, just the computer. Our current car likes to register EGR problems (emissions) though there is nothing wrong with it. We have to pay boocoo bucks to get it "fixed" every year just to pass inspection. It is NOT spewing gas or anything like that, just has a bad computer. Good luck though!...Show more
Pamela Meno: If you have cash, you can buy. And despite what some! people continue to say, you CAN buy a car for cash and regist! er it no matter what your age. I did it at 16.You cant enter into a finance contract and some dealers wont sell to you because they don't want the possibility of getting sued.

Mohamed Szollosi: You can buy a car without a license. However, you cannot buy a car from a dealer if you are under 18 - even if you're paying cash. And you cannot title and register a vehicle if you are under 18. Give your parents the money and have them buy it for you. A private seller will sell it to you, but like I said, you can't register or title it.
