Benny Stehno: You need a Bill of Sale signed by the seller. You can print one from this link: > http://www.businessformtemplate.com/preview/Boat_B... You will also need one for the trailer and boat's motor if an outboard.Once you get the Bill of Sale, go to either your States DMV or Parks & Wildlife (which ever handles boat registration in your State. FYI - The USCG (Coast Guard) mission is to save lives on the water, and to protect boaters via boat safety enforcement. They have nothing to do with boat titles, boat registrations, except to make sure your boat is safe & legal....Show more

Fred Caminita: Im thinking that if you put a ton of money into a boat with no title or paperwork you are going to have problems. I only did this one time and learned my lesson. Some states are better than others and we dont even know what state your in so theee is nothing we can suggest. All states are different in respect to titles and registration. ONe thing i! s pretty clear without a valid title in your name you cannot register the boat or get the paperwork for it and put it on the water in any public lands. Good luck I have a feeling its best if you get the title straight first then put money in the dang thing ok? best of luck I hope it works out....Show more

Sherri Drakos: This Site Might Help You.RE:How do i register a boat from 1972 no title?I bought a boat july of last year without a title for the boat and trailer, the boat is over 14 ft long its a larson and I've been going through so much trouble trying to get it registered, there is no hull id number, and I bought the boat in not running condition, now that I have restored this......Show more

Alexis Reyer: First I would try your local DMV or wherever you get your license/license plates from. Ask them how you can get a title for your restored boat, if that doesn't work, try contacting the coast guard, I don't know what department but I believe they give you a ! boat inspection first then issue a title/reg. As for the trail! or, that gets licensed at your DMV just like cars i believe. Good luck!
