If I am currently under my father's car insurance plan, could I sign up for my own without his consent?

Eldridge Rieves: What matters is who OWNS the car you plan to insure. If it's in your name, the policy should be in your name. If the car you're driving is owned by your father, it needs to be insured under his policy with you listed as an additional driver.
