Can a Home School student qualify to apply for a pilot job in Malaysia or Singapore?

Coleen Carignan: No one cares about your home schooling situation. What they care about is that you are fully qualified, licensed and able to perform the functions and duties required of a commercial pilot. If not, then you won't find a job ANYWHERE!

Raul Lushbaugh: Phyllis - As you probably know, most young Malaysians apply though MAS or SQ for their cadet scheme (I do not know what age requirements they have) and complete their training as cadets until they are hired by the airline - To become cadet, they have a very strict knowledge test to verify your scholastic standing such as mathematics, physics, and geography questions, and obviously your English language level - Expect also a strict medical exam equivalent to 1st Class medical -Therefore it does not matter what Home School program you completed -The other solution, will be for you to apply for training in obtaining your pilot licences by yourself in a flight school, either in KUL, either in SIN, or even ! overseas, such as in UK, Australia or USA. There, my recommendation would be UK, getting a [f]ATPL, which is the top pilot licence for candidates for airlines such as MAS or SQ - But in that case, it is a rather expensive training if you are not sponsored -For UK flight schools, have a look at -http://oaa.com http://ctcwings.comhttp://www.cabair.comSelamat maju jaya...!...Show more

Ofelia Kieck: I honestly don't think you will find many people from Asia on this website. I would try pprune, as that has many pilots on it from all over the World. Mostly European, Canadian, and American pilots come here to answer questions. As far as a homeschool student getting any job, why would it matter? I've heard that the top American universities love homeschool students. I'm not sure what SPM is, perhaps something from your country. Why do you want to work in Asia?...Show more
