Cheap Cell Phone Plan for 1 week in London & Paris & to Call Home to the U.S.A ?

Bianca Lannier: You don't have to wait, untill you get there. It's better you get a local SIM card/Cell Phone from RebelFone even before you leave US. This way you will know your local number beforehand & pay in USD.If you already have a GSM un-locked Cell Phone, then you just buy a SIM card from them and use own cell phone OR you get a SIM & Cell Bundle from them. You can either get a local SIM for UK & France (then you have to swap sims when you cross borders) OR get one Europe SIM card, which keep you connected all over Europe at fixed & flat rates. This is the best way to avoid expensive International Roaming & affordably stay connected. Alvaro Oare: The best tariff for prepaid SIM cards is Simyo - check their web site for details. This is a web only service, so you can buy online before you go. Their charge is 19 cts /min for outgoing calls to French mobiles and landlines. Calls to the US cost 75 cts/min Incoming calls are free (th! is is true for all French mobile operators). I don' t know whether they ship abroad. At worst, you can ask someone in France to order one and post it to you . The credit is valid three months, so you have plenty of time to arrange this before your trip. All the prices I mentioned are in eurocents, of course. For calling your family, it may be cheaper for them to call you back. Sacrifice 75 cents to place the call (the international calls incur a 1 minite minimum) and then they call you back. As I said, incoming calls are free. The solution for the UK is slightly easier. You can buy a simcard over the counter pretty well anywhere (grocers shops, newsagents etc). I use a Virgin SIM card. The credit on this lasts a long time - no three month limit. Make sure your phone or blackberry is compatible with international sim cards before you travel....Show more

Adam Momaya: From the modern Coca-Cola London Eye to the historic Tower of London, London has significantly to provid! e, see more with Hotelbye . In London you will even get the wo! rld-famous British Museum. British Museum reveals the operates of man from prehistoric to contemporary times, from around the world. Highlights range from the Rosetta Stone, the Parthenon statues and the mummies in the Ancient Egypt collection. Still another destination for a see in London could be the London's National Gallery, a large space filled with Western European paintings from the 13th to the 19th centuries. In this gallery you may find works by professionals such as Van Gogh, Da Vinci, Botticelli, Constable, Renoir, Titian and Stubbs. London is a place where you are able to see the past and the more in the exact same place....Show more

Matt Tiry: To use a 'pay as you go' plan, you need to buy a pay as you phone. The cheapest is 40-50 Euros. You can then recharge the phone with the amount you wish. If you'll be travelling often to Europe for business, this may be a good idea. However, I wouldn't recommend a cell phone to call the US. (A call from a French mob! ile to a French number costs about 50 cents per minute...so imagine international.) I don't think you would be reimbursed by your company for these personal calls. The best would be to buy a phone card from a 'tabac' and use that to call the USA....Show more

Adan Alipio: Hey this is tara...I have been using a service called pingo http://www.tinyurl.com/pingo-com for a while for international calling. It has really served me well in the long run. Great voice quality is the reason I am sticking to it after trying a number of different calling cards.
